You probably remember how Tesco deployed virtual store display in Korean subways which lets you shop products by scanning QR codes. Now the Germans are adopting this approach and the drugstore Budnikowsky put posters shops at eleven busy railway stations around the country. They are made of images just like the Tesco’s ones and are selling products of Aliqua brand of natural cosmetics with the QR Codes resolving to the specific items. Watch video after the jump.

Using QR Code on store, restaurants or cafe is common these days and one of the main places they are put is on the window. Creating QR Code is pretty easy and can be done from our generator but you have to follow some instructions in order to get best results. You may offer the visitor a chance to enter a drawing for a product you’re displaying in your window, or you may invite them to a special event taking place in your store, give them promotions about some items, etc. You can also create a video showing them the benefits of walking into your store. Most people who have QR readers on their mobile devices are tech savvy and want to be engaged this way.

Earlier this year a convenience store retailer sought to create an engaging way to interact with customers for their summer promotion and got it right – QR codes. Kum & Go, a convenience store chain with more than 400 stores in 11 states throughout the Midwest, used a QR code above their fountain drink area that when scanned, directed customers to a mobile version of the summer contest site.
